This is a beautiful example of a high end peignoir, most likely 1950s but could be up to a decade earlier or later, that is both demure and sexy at the same time. This is more of a shawl than a night-jacket and is of phenomenal quality made from a very fine grade silk tulle. This exceptionally beautiful fabric is worlds away from the cheap nylon versions that are mass produced today. The peignoir is edged in a fine machined floral lace which is entirely hand-stitched onto the tulle. The peignoir is a loose style that folds over the top of the shoulders to a three quarter length while the reverse falls almost to the floor. This piece presents very beautifully and is in excellent vintage condition save for a small area of breaks in the tulle towards the back; these are very minor in nature and none are bigger than 2mm. This will fit a very versatile range of sizes due to its open nature from extra small to extra large- this really is one size.
